To turn thisfeature on, see page 24.Adjusting the handset ringer volumePress {^} or {V} repeatedly to select thedesired volume while the handset isringing for an incoming call.Note:L You can also program the handsetringer volume beforehand (page 23).Temporary handset ringer offWhile the handset is ringing for a call,you can turn the ringer off temporarily bypressing {~}.Adjusting the base unit ringer volumePress {^} or {V} repeatedly to select thedesired volume.L To turn the ringer off, press and hold{V} until the unit beeps.Useful features duringa callHoldThis feature allows you to put an outsidecall on hold.1 Press {MENU} during an outsidecall.2 {V}/{^}: “Hold” i {SELECT}3 To release hold, press {C}.L Another handset user can takethe call by pressing {C}.Note:L If a call is kept on hold for more than 9minutes, an alarm tone starts to soundand the ringer indicator on thehandset flashes rapidly. After 1additional minute on hold, the call isdisconnected.L If another phone is connected to thesame line (page 11), you can also takethe call by lifting its handset.MuteWhile mute is turned on, you can hearthe other party, but the other partycannot hear you.1 Press {MUTE} during conversation.L {MUTE} flashes.2 To return to the conversation, press{MUTE} again.Note:L {MUTE} is a soft key visible on thehandset display during a call.Flash{FLASH} allows you to use the specialfeatures of your host PBX such astransferring an extension call, oraccessing optional telephone services.Note:L To change the flash time, see page24.For Call Waiting or Visual CallWaiting service usersTo use Call Waiting, you must firstsubscribe to Call Waiting from yourservice provider/telephone company.This feature allows you to receive callswhile you are already talking on thephone.
