Caller ID Service17Caller ID featuresWhen an outside call is being received,the caller’s phone number is displayed.Caller information for the last 50 callersis logged in the caller list from the mostrecent call to the oldest.L If the unit cannot receive callerinformation, the following is displayed:– “Out of Area”: The caller dialsfrom an area which does notprovide a Caller ID service.– “Private Caller”: The callerrequests not to send callerinformation.L If the unit is connected to a PBXsystem, caller information may not beproperly received. Contact your PBXsupplier.Missed callsIf a call is not answered, the unit treats itas a missed call and y is displayed. Thislets you know if you should view thecaller list to see who called while youwere away.Even if only one missed call in the callerlist is viewed (page 39), y disappearsfrom the display. When you receiveanother new call, y is displayed again.Note:L Even when there are unviewedmissed calls, y disappears from thestandby display if the followingoperation is performed by one of theregistered handsets:– Being replaced on the charger.– Pressing {ic}.Phonebook name displayWhen caller information is received andit matches a phone number stored in thephonebook, the stored name in thephonebook is displayed and logged inthe caller list.Call waiting and Caller IDcompatibleIf you subscribe to Caller ID service, yourhandset displays the 2nd caller’s informationwhile talking. After you hear a call waiting tone,the caller’s phone number will be displayed.You can answer the 2nd call, keeping the 1stcall on hold. Follow your serviceprovider/telephone company instructionsusing {ECO/R}. (Recall/flash function)L If the phone number is stored in thephonebook with its name, the caller’s namewill also be displayed.L Please contact your service provider/telephone company for details andavailability in your area.Using Caller ID serviceImportant:L This unit is Caller ID compatible. Contact your serviceprovider/telephone company for details.Using toll services from Telecom oranother companyYour telephone company may charge you for alocal call if the number dialled has the areacode prefix included. If this is unacceptable,dial only the 7-digit local number. Do not dialthe ) prefix or the area code.L For all local and national incoming calls,your display will show the area code (e.g.09 for Auckland) or the cellular prefix (e.g.0274 for Telecom Cellular) followed by thecaller’s telephone number. An Aucklandcaller’s number will be displayed as09XXXXXXX. The seven X’s represent theseven digits of the caller’s telephonenumber. A caller from a 6-digit TelecomCellular number will be displayed as0274XXXXXX. For incoming internationalcalls, your display may only show “0000”.For business users on a Centrex line, yourdisplay will show Centrex extensionnumbers in the shorter extension numberformat used within your company.L The Caller ID information will not bepresented on incoming fax calls if TelecomFaxAbility is used.
