Answering system(KX-TGD530 series)The answering system can answer calls andrecord caller messages. If you do not want torecord messages, select “Greeting only”as the recording time setting (page 31).Recording capacityThe total recording time is about 17 minutes,including your greeting message. Up to 64messages can be recorded.Note:R When message memory becomes full:– “Messages full” is shown on thehandset display.– The message counter on the base unitflashes if the answering system is turnedon.Turning the answeringsystem on/offBase unitPress MANSWER ON/OFFN to turn on/off theanswering system.Greeting messageRecording your greeting message1 MMENUN#3022 MbN: “Yes” a MSELECTN3 After a beep sounds, hold the handsetand speak clearly into the microphone.4 Press MSTOPN to stop recording. aMOFFNUsing a pre-recorded greetingmessageThe unit provides 2 pre-recorded greetingmessages:– If you reset to pre-recorded greeting or donot record your own greeting message, theunit plays a pre-recorded greeting askingcallers to leave a message.– If the message recording time (page 31)is set to “Greeting only”, callers’messages are not recorded and the unitplays a different pre-recorded greetingmessage asking callers to call again.Resetting to a pre-recorded greetingmessage1 MMENUN#3042 MYESN a MOFFNPlaying back the greetingmessage1 MMENUN#3032 To exit, press MOFFN.Listening to messagesUsing the base unitWhen new messages have been recorded,the message indicator ( ) on the base unitflashes.Press M N (PLAY).R During playback, the message indicator( ) on the base unit lights.R New messages will be played.
