Others84VQT0V1014 Age (P53)15 Motion picture playback (P58)16 Favorites (P67)Cautions for Use∫ Optimal use of the cameraTake care not to drop or knock the unitor put a lot of pressure on it.• Do not leave the unit inyour pants pocket whenyou sit down or forcefullyinsert it into a full bag etc.• Take care not to drop orknock the bag that youinserted the unit in as itmay strongly shock theunit.• A strong shock to the unit may break thelens, screen or outer case and cause theunit to malfunction.Keep the camera as far away as possiblefrom electromagnetic equipment (suchas microwave ovens, TVs, video gamesetc.).• If you use the camera on top of or near aTV, the pictures on the camera may bedisrupted by electromagnetic waveradiation.• Do not use the camera near cell phonesbecause doing so may result in noiseadversely affecting the pictures.• Recorded data may be damaged, orpictures may be distorted, by strongmagnetic fields created by speakers orlarge motors.• Electromagnetic wave radiation generatedby microprocessors may adversely affectthe camera, disturbing the pictures.• If the camera is adversely affected byelectromagnetic equipment and stopsfunctioning properly, turn the camera offand remove the batteries or disconnectAC adaptor (DMW-AC6; optional). Thenreinsert the batteries or reconnect ACadaptor and turn the camera on.Do not use the camera near radiotransmitters or high-voltage lines.• If you record near radio transmitters orhigh-voltage lines, the recorded picturesmay be adversely affected.Always use the supplied cords andcables. If you use optional accessories,use the cords and the cables suppliedwith them.Do not extend the cords or the cables.Do not spray the camera withinsecticides or volatile chemicals.• If the camera is sprayed with suchchemicals, the body of the camera may bedamaged and the surface finish may peeloff.• Do not keep rubber or plastic products incontact with the camera for a long periodof time.Do not use benzine, thinner or alcoholfor cleaning the camera.• Before cleaning the camera, remove thebatteries or disconnect the AC adaptor(DMW-AC6; optional) from the electricaloutlet.• The body of the camera may be damagedand the surface finish may peel off.• Wipe the camera with a soft, dry cloth. Toremove stubborn stains, wipe with a cloththat is soaked in a detergent diluted withwater and then with a soft, dry cloth.• If you use a chemically treated cloth, readthe instructions that come with the cloth.• If rain water or other drops of water splashonto the camera, wet a soft cloth with tapwater, wring it well, then use it to wipe thecamera body carefully. Lastly, wipe thecamera again with a dry cloth.
