Record mode35VQT0T39Self-timer recordingYou can record still pictures on a card using thetimer.≥Set to Card Recording Mode.1 Press the joystick to display the icon. Movethe joystick down until icon 1 appears.2 Move the joystick left to select the self-timerrecording icon [ ].≥The [SELF-TIMER ON] indication appears onthe screen of the movie camera.3 Press the [PHOTO SHOT] button.≥After the recording lamp and the [ ]indication flashes for approx. 10 seconds,recording will start. After recording, theself-timer will be cancelled.≥If you press the [PHOTO SHOT] buttonhalfway and then fully, the subject is focusedwhen the button is pressed halfway.≥When you press the [PHOTO SHOT] buttonfully, the subject is focused just beforerecording.ª To stop the timer midway throughPress the [MENU] button.≥The self-timer standby mode is cancelled whenyou turn off the power or operate the mode dial.≥If the continuous photoshot recording is set, themaximum recordable pictures are recorded.Wide/Pro-Cinema FunctionYou can record images with a 16:9 ratio.Wide FunctionImages are recorded with a 16:9 aspect ratio.Pro-Cinema FunctionIn addition to the effects when the Wide functionis used, images can also be recorded at a rate of25 frames a second with a strobe-like effect. Theaudio is also recorded with more presence.≥Set to Tape/Card Recording Mode.(The Pro-Cinema Function can only be usedin Tape Recording Mode.)1 Set [BASIC] >> [REC ASPECT] >> [16:9] or[PRO-CINEMA].ª To record with a 4:3 aspect ratioSet [BASIC] >> [REC ASPECT] >> [4:3].≥The default setting is [16:9].≥In the wide/Pro-Cinema mode, the menuscreens, operation icons and other screendisplays appear horizontally oriented.≥When images are played back on a TV screen,the date/time indication may be erased in somecases.≥Depending on the TV, the picture quality maydeteriorate.≥If still pictures recorded with a 4:3 aspect ratioare played back when [TV ASPECT] is set to[16:9], part of the operation icons and otherdisplays will appear on the black bands on theleft and right of the picture.≥Concerning the TV to be connected and TVused for playback≥When playing back images taken by this uniton a TV screen, change the settingestablished by Tape/Card playback mode[SETUP] >> [TV ASPECT] to match theaspect ratio (4:3 or 16:9) of the TV monitor tobe connected.
