22Recording ModeFor assistance, please call : 1-800-211-PANA(7262) or, contact us via the web at: http://www.panasonic.com/contactinfoAbout RecordingWhen recording pictures on a tape, set the ModeDial 38 to Tape Recording Mode [ ].When recording still pictures on a card, set theMode Dial 38 to Card Recording Mode [ ].When recording with the [AUTO/MANUAL/FOCUS] Switch 18 set to [AUTO], the Camcorderautomatically adjusts the focus and whitebalance. In some cases, they cannot be adjustedautomatically and need to be adjusted manually.(pp. 28~30)• Before turning on the power, remove the LensCap. If the Lens Cap is still attached when thepower is turned on, Automatic White BalanceAdjustment (p. 28) may not function correctly.• When the Recording Pause Mode continuesfor more than 5 minutes, the power is turnedoff automatically for tape protection and powerconservation. (If the AC Adaptor is used, the poweris turned off only when the tape is inserted in TapeRecording Mode.) When the tape is inserted in TapeRecording Mode and if the Recording Pause Modecontinues for more than 5 minutes the power isturned off automatically. To resume recording fromthis condition, turn off, then turn on the power again.• When the Camcorder is connected to a personalcomputer with a USB Cable, Standby mode is notavailable.Recording on a Tape1 Set the [OFF/ON] Switch 42 to [ON].• The [POWER] Lamp 39 lights up.2 Set the Mode Dial 38 to Tape RecordingMode.4 Press the Recording Start/Stop Button 41again to pause the recording.• The [PAUSE] Indication is displayed.To Check the Recording• The [CHK] Indication is displayed.
