17Basic OperationCamera RecordingBefore you begin...• Connect Camcorder to power source.• Insert cassette with record tab (page 11).View recording scene on EVF (ElectronicViewer Finder) or LCD (Liquid CrystalDisplay) monitor.Recording via EVF or LCDMonitorNote:• When Camcorder is aimed at excessivelybright objects, or bright lights, a verticalbar may appear in the picture. This isnormal for the CCD pick-up. Try to avoidthis when possible.• Using LCD monitor reduces batteryoperation time.
