15RQT7708∫ Connecting a television with COMPONENT VIDEO IN terminalsCOMPONENT VIDEO OUT terminalsThese terminals can be used for either interlace or progressiveoutput and provide a purer picture than the S-VIDEO OUTterminal. Connection using these terminals outputs the colordifference signals (P B /CB, P R/C R) and luminance signal (Y)separately in order to achieve high fidelity in reproducing colors.≥The description of the component video input terminals dependson the television or monitor (e.g. Y/PB/P R , Y/B-Y/R-Y, Y/C B /CR ).Connect to terminals of the same color.≥After making this connection, change the black level for a betterpicture (➜ page 30, Video—Black Level Control).To enjoy progressive video≥Connect to the component video input terminals on a 480Pcompatible television. (Actual results depend on the television.)[Note]Connect to a different terminal group than that you used for thevideo cable (e.g., “VIDEO 2”).Picture from this unit’s VHS will not appear when you use the samegroup input terminal connections because the S-video terminalinput takes precedence.For better video from DVDThe following connections are for video from the DVD section only. Make sure you have connected the VIDEO OUT terminal with thetelevision to view video from the VHS section (➜ page 14).You may need to change the video-input mode on the television to view video from the VHS and DVD sections.
