15 PreparationsGetting StartedConfirm the Status Using the LEDsIndicators Indicator Name/StatusCaps Lock indicatorz This indicator lights green when theCaps Lock key is pressed: Subse-quent non-shifted input is capitalized.NumLk indicator (Ten-key mode)z This indicator lights green when theNumLk key is pressed: Part of thekeyboard (see figure below) will functionas a ten-key numeric input.When the green light is on, if the Fn keyis pressed along with keys on certainother segments of the keyboard, thenthose keys will operate as numeric keys.The [Enter] key functions differentlydepending on the application. To dis-able, press the NumLk key once more(the indicator will turn off).z When the NumLk indicator is on: the fol-lowing functions will operate:ScrLk indicator (Scroll lock)z This indicator lights green when theFn+NumLk (ScrLk) key are pressed:Scroll lock functions differently depend-ing on the application.Hard disk drive indicatorz Lighted: This indicator lights when thehard disk drive is accessed.Indicators Indicator Name/StatusPower indicatorz Not lit: Power off / Hibernation modez Green: Power onz Blinking green: Standby modeECO Economy Mode (ECO) indicatorz Not lit: Economy Mode (ECO) disabledz Green: Economy Mode (ECO) enabledz Blinking green: Economy Mode (ECO)enabled (Discharging until the remainingbattery power is 80 % or less)Battery indicatorz Not lit: Battery pack is not connected orno charging.z Orange*1 : Charging in progress. (If [Bat-tery Charging Indicator] in the [Main]menu of the Setup Utility is set to [Flash-ing], the indicator will alternatelybecome lighter and darker (Flashing)).z Green: Fully charged.z Red: The battery level is very low (thecharge is approx. 9% or less).z Blinking red: Battery pack or chargingcircuit may not be working properly.z Blinking orange *1 : The battery cannotbe recharged temporarily when theinternal temperature of the battery packis outside the acceptable temperaturerange for recharging or when softwareapplications and peripheral devices(USB devices, etc.) are consuming toomuch power.*1 The orange display light has three modes:on, flashing and blinking.
