29Before installing the hard disk drives, turn off the power of this recorder first. When replacing the hard disk drives, the procedureswill be same as those of installation. When installing or replacing the hard disk drives for playback use only, perform the link pro-cess.Install the hard disk drivesInstallation or replacement of the hard disk drivesStep 1Remove the HDD bracket screws (x2) on the HDD slots onthe rear panel of the recorder, and pull out the HDD bracket.Step 2Install the hard disk drive into the HDD bracket. When install-ing the hard disk drive, use a low-torque powered screw-driver or a torque screwdriver to tighten screws with thespecified torque.Tightening torque for the screws: 0.49 N·m {0.36 lbf·ft}Important:• When securing the hard disk drives to the HDD bracketsdo not mistake the direction of the connectors. (Do notinstall the hard disk drives in the opposite direction.)• When installing hard disk drives, use a low-torque pow-ered screwdriver or a torque screwdriver to tightenscrews with the specified torque.Note:• Hard disk drives are locally procured. Contact your deal-er for purchasing, installing, and replacing the hard diskdrives.Step 3Insert the HDD unit (the HDD bracket with the hard diskdrives) all the way into the HDD slot, and secure the HDDbracket with the screws removed in Step 1.Step 4Turn on the power of the recorder.If the installed hard disk drive is new, make sure that the[HDD] indicator lights properly after turning on the power ofthe recorder. (☞ Page 31)If the installed hard disk drive is replaced from another one, itis necessary to format the hard disk drive or to perform thelink process. Refer to the "HDD management" (☞ page 75)of the setup menu.Turn on the power of the recorder.
