Allconfiguration settings are stored in nonvolatile memory.The HDSL rate type, firmware revision numbers, and the serial number displayedon the Board Configuration screen cannot be changed.Options 6 and 7 (Switchpack and Line Build-Out Definitions) on the Config menudisplay the switchpack and jumper positions used when changing configurationchanges manually. These options are described in the next section of thischapter.Making Changes in Switchpack ModeWhen operating in Switchpack Mode, you can change configuration options bymoving switches on the board hardware.To enable Switchpack Mode, refer toSwitching Between Terminal andSwitchpack Modes in Chapter 3. ProcedureTo open the unit and make changes while in Switchpack Mode:1. Power down the unit and remove the enclosure cover, exposing the circuitboard. Use electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection when handling the circuitboard.2. Refer to the board layout illustration in Appendix C,Switchpacks andJumpers, to locate switchpack S1.
