Problem Cause SolutionThe machine grinds thecoffee beans, but coffeedoes not come out.The pre-ground coffeecompartment is clogged.Switch off the machine and remove thebrew group. Open the lid of the pre-ground coffee compartment and insertthe spoon handle into it. Move thehandle up and down until the cloggedground coffee falls down (Fig. 27).The milk does not froth. Machines with LatteGo: LatteGois incorrectly assembled.Make sure that the milk container isproperly assembled to the frame ofLatteGo ('click').Machines with LatteGo: the milkcontainer and/or frame ofLatteGo are dirty.Disassemble LatteGo and rinse bothparts under the tap or clean them in thedishwasher (see 'Cleaning LatteGo afterevery use').Machines with classic milkfrother: the milk frother is dirty.Thoroughly clean the milk frother (see'Cleaning the classic milk frother ').The type of milk used is notsuitable for frothing.Different types of milk result in differentamounts of froth and different frothqualities. We have tested the followingmilk types which proved to deliver agood milk froth result: semi-skimmed orfull-fat cow's milk and lactose-free milk.Milk is leaking from thebottom of the LatteGomilk container.The frame and the milkcontainer are not assembledproperly.First insert the top of the milk containerunder the hook at the top of the frame.Then press home the bottom part of themilk container. You hear a click when itlocks into place.The machine seems tobe leaking.The machine uses water to rinsethe internal circuit and brewgroup. This water flows throughthe internal system directly intothe drip tray. This is normal.Empty the drip tray every day or assoon as the 'drip tray full' indicator popsup through the drip tray cover. Tip:Place a cup under the dispensing spoutto collect rinsing water and reduce theamount of water in the drip tray.The drip tray is too full and hasoverflowed which makes it looklike the machine is leaking.Empty the drip tray every day or assoon as the 'drip tray full' indicator popsup through the drip tray cover.The water tank is not fullyinserted and air is drawn intothe machine.Make sure the water tank is in thecorrect position: remove it and insert itagain pushing it as far as possible.The brew group is dirty/clogged. Rinse the brew group.The machine is not placed on ahorizontal surface.Place the machine on a horizontalsurface so that the drip tray does notoverflow and the 'drip tray full' indicatorworks properly.23English
