Thecoffee machine may be used only by adults.Power supplyPlug the coffee machine into a suitable mainssocket.The voltage must match the rating on theappliance identification plate.Power cord (Fig.A)Never use the coffee machine if the power cordis defective.You should have any defective cords or plugsimmediately replaced by an Authorized ServiceCentre.Do not pass the cord around corners, oversharp edges or over hot objects and keep itaway from oil.Do not use the power cord to carry or pull thecoffee machine.Do not unplug the appliance by yanking at thepower cord or touch the plug with wet hands.Do not let the power cord hang freely fromtables or shelves.Protecting others (Fig.B)Make sure that children are not allowed to playwith the coffee machine.Children are not aware of the dangers connec-ted with household appliances.Do not leave the materials used to pack theappliance within children’s reach.Danger of burns (Fig.C)Avoid aiming a jet of hot steam and/or hotwater at yourself and/or at others.Always use the handles or knobs provided.Never attempt to remove the “Crema” filterholder while dispensing coffee.While the machine is heating up, drops of hotwater may be discharged from the brewinghead.Siting (Fig.D)Place the coffee machine in a safe place whereno one can tip it over or be injured by it.Hot water or steam could be discharged:danger of scalding!Do not keep the machine at a temperaturebelow 0°C; frost may damage the machine.Do not use the coffee machine outdoors.To prevent the casing from melting or beingdamaged, avoid resting the machine on veryhot surfaces or near open flames.Cleaning (Fig.E)Before cleaning the machine, it is indispensableto turn off all the controls and remove the plugfrom the socket.Then wait for the machine to cool down.Never immerse the machine in water! It isstrictly forbidden to attempt to access internalmachine parts.Space for use and maintenance (Fig.D)To ensure that the coffee machine worksproperly and efficiently, you are advised to:• Rest it on a perfectly level surface;• Place it an adequately lit, hygienic locationwithin easy reach of an electric socket;• Ensure a minimum clearance betweenthe machine and walls as shown in theillustration.Safety rules
