464.2.1 DashboardO ve rvie wThere are three sections on the page: Volumes, Storage Pools and Disks. They aredescribed below:Volumes: All available logic volumes, their capacity and type (Volume, LUN andUnused) are indicated in this section. Click "New Volume" to create new volumesand "Refresh" to refresh the list. For steps on creating volumes, please refer to thechapter on Volumes.Storage Pools: The status and capacity usage of each storage pool are listed in thissection. Click "New Storage Pool" to create new storage pools, and for steps oncreating storage pools, please refer to the chapter on Storage Pools.Disk: The physical hard disk drives and their associated storage hosts (includingboth the NAS and its connected expansion enclosures) are shown in this section.Click the hard disk drive icon to bring up the Disk Health window. For details on theDisk Health window, please refer to the chapter on Disks.Click a logical volume in the Volumes section to check the storage pool that the volumebelongs to. Click the "up" or "down" arrow icon in front of a storage pool to check RAIDgroups contained in that storage pool and check "Show members" inside a RAID groupto show the hard disk drives included in that chosen RAID group.Predictive S.M.A.R.TWith this feature, a warning message will pop up when an S.M.A.R.T error is detectedon a hard disk drive (indicating that the RAID group that the hard drive disk belongs tois likely to fail very soon.) The rebuilding sequence will be initiated for that RAID groupto ensure the availability of that RAID group. To activate this feature, click theSettings button (the button next to the ? button) on top right side of the screen andcheck "Activate Predictive SMART Migration" in the dialog window.U tiliz a tionThis page is designed for users to monitor storage utilization of their NAS. With thevolume and storage pool usage information presented on this page, users can managetheir storage system more effectively and spot potential issues based on trends over a
