Devices with Bluetooth capabilities can exchangeinformation over a distance of about 10 meters (30 feet)without requiring a physical connection.Unlike infrared, you don't need to line up the devices tobeam information with Bluetooth. The devices only needto be within a range of about 10 meters. You can evenbeam information to a device in a different room, as longas it's within range.The software included with your Smartphone allows youto use Bluetooth to beam information, such as files, ap-pointments, tasks, and contact cards, between devicesthat have Bluetooth capabilities. For example, if you anda co-worker each have a device with Bluetooth, you canbeam items between your devices, such as files, contactcards, appointments, tasks, and so forth.Bluetooth modesBluetooth operates in three different modes:1 On. The Bluetooth radio is turned on and you can useBluetooth features.2 Off. The Bluetooth radio is turned off. In this mode, canneither send nor receive information by using Bluetooth.You might want to turn the radio off at times to conservebattery power, or in situations where radio use isprohibited, for example on airplanes and in hospitals.To turn your Bluetooth on or off:a.
