Push in gas control knob slightly and turn clock-wise to OFF”. Do not force.5. Close control access panel.5. Turn knob on gas control counter clockwiseto “PILOT”.6. Push in control knob all the way and hold in. Im-mediately depress red or black piezo button. It mayrequire several depressions of the red or blackpiezo button until PILOT lights. If PILOT light doesnot light after 10 seconds, return to step 3. Continue tohold the control knob in for about one minute after thepilot is lit. Release knob and it will pop back out. Pilotshould remain lit. If it goes out, repeat steps 3 through 6.• If knob does not pop up when released, stop and im-mediately call your service technician or gas supplier.• If the pilot will not stay lit after several tries, turnthe gas control knob to “OFF” and call your servicetechnician or gas supplier.7. Turn gas control knob counterclockwise to“ON”.8. To light Burner, flip the on/off switch to the “ON”position, and close access grille.9. Turn on all electric power to the appliance.1. If you feel this odor is excessive it may require theinitial 3-4 hour continuous burn on high followed by a second burnup to 12 hours to fully drive off any odor from paint and lubricantsused in the manufacturing process.During this break-in period it is recommended that some windows inthe house be opened for air circulation. This will help avoid settingoff smoke detectors, and help eliminate any odors associated withthe fireplace’s initial burning.Additionally, for the first few minutes after each lighting,vapor may condense and fog the glass and flames may beblue. After a few minutes this moisture will disappear andwithin 15-30 minutes the flames should become yellow.Noise caused by metal expanding and contracting as itheats up and cools down, similar to the sound producedby a furnace or heating duct. This noise does not affect theoperation or longevity of your fireplace.
