4PREPARATIONPOWER SOURCESYou can power the TV from any of threepower sources:• internal battery power (using four Dbatteries (not supplied)• standard AC power (using an optionalAC adapter)• vehicle battery power (using an optionalDC power cord)Internal Battery PowerYour TV requires four D batteries for power.For the best performance and longest life,we recommend RadioShack alkalinebatteries.Cautions:• Use only fresh batteries of the requiredsize and recommended type.• Do not mix old and new batteries,different types of batteries (standard,alkaline, or rechargeable), orrechargeable batteries of differentcapacities.Follow these steps to install batteries.1. Move the antenna out of the way andpush and lift up the battery cover'sbuckle on the back of the TV to openthe battery compartment cover.2. Install four fresh alkaline batteries asindicated by the polarity symbols (+and –) marked inside.Caution: Installing batteries incorrectlycan damage the TV.3. Close the battery cover and push downthe buckle to secure the battery cover.Note: The TV can operate for about 9 hourswith alkaline batteries.
