If set to RawDisc Format, it will output the audio format found on your disc - this will typically be surround soundformat if you're playing a Blu-ray Disc or DVD. If set to PCM, it will output stereo audio, no matterwhat the original format on the disc is.Thus, if you've connected this unit to a surround sound receiver using a digital connection (HDMI orCOAX), we recommend you set Digital Output to Raw Disc Format. If your receiver doesn't appear tosupport the surround sound format you're playing, then try setting this to PCM.HDMIYou can select PCM or Raw Disc Format.Dynamic Range ControlThis allows you to make the loud parts of a movie’s audio track quieter than they would be in thetheatre, without making the dialog of the actors any quieter. This would be useful, for instance, whenyou want to watch a movie in the evening when others might be sleeping.Customizing the Function SettingsHDMI ResolutionAuto: If your TV is a high-definition TV (HDTV), is connected to the HDMI port on your playerand you want your player to set the output resolution based on information exchangedbetween the TV and your player over the HDMI cable.480i: If your TV is a standard-definition NTSC (analog) TV.480p: If your TV is an enhanced-definition TV (EDTV).720p: If your TV is a high-definition TV (HDTV) capable of 720p only.1080i: If your TV is a high-definition TV (HDTV) capable of 1080i only.1080p: If the TV is a high-definition TV (HDTV) capable of 1080p (any frame rate) connected tothe HDMI jack on your player.HDMI 1080p 24HzOn and Off are available for your choice.Note:Many movies recorded on Blu-ray discs are recorded at 24 frames per second (fps).
