EMU-2™User Manual14Current UsageThe Current Usage screen shows the rateof energy consumption and the estimatedcost per hour in dollars (or cents, if it isless than one dollar). The estimated cost iscalculated from the current price per unitmultiplied by the current rate of energyconsumption. The data is updated fromthe meter every 8 seconds while thisscreen is shown. This is like the speedometer in your car; it shows you how fast you are consumingenergy.Daily TotalsThe Daily Totals screen shows youraccumulated totals in graphical andnumerical format for energy consumptionand estimated cost for the current day andthe previous day. The current day(“Today”) shows a running total from thestart of the day (midnight) up to thepresent. At midnight, today’s totals will betransferred to “Yesterday”, and a newrunning total is started. The graphs show hourly data, with a bar for each hour. The height of the bars isproportional to the number of kWh consumed for each hour. The graphs are auto-scaling, and meant to show relative, rather than absolute values. The small numbernear the top of the center line indicates the value (in kWh) of the highest bar in thegraphs. When you first start up your EMU-2™, there will be no Yesterday data, so you willdashes in the place of numbers until the end of the first day.Current Usage$1.28 /hr10.123 kWYesterday Today70.4kWh 47.1kWh$6.34 $3.346
