IV User Manual Pedelec with front motor 199 Removing the front wheelAs the motor is built into the front wheel, you must per-form the following steps before you can remove the frontwheel:› Take the battery out of the Pedelec.Always remove the battery before removing the frontwheel and carrying out any subsequent work on themotor as otherwise you could injure yourself.› Undo the two small hexagon socket screws on theplastic cover that is fitted to the left of the frontwheel by turning them anticlockwise using a 3 mmAllen key. Keep these in a safe place. Slide the cov-er to the left and take it off the fork.1 + 2 Hexagon socket screws12› Once the cover is removed, you should now be ableto see one white and one green cable connector.Open these connectors and pull them apart.1 Green connector2 White connector12› To open the white connector, push a sharp object(tip of a key or ball point pen) down onto the an-gled surface of the snap-in mechanism, as shownbelow. You can pull the two connector halves apartwhen pushing this surface back.White connector› To open the green connector, push a flat pointedobject (small screwdriver or small point of a key)under the small tab. You can disconnect the twoconnector halves while lifting the tab.Green connector› The cables leading to the two connectors, exit froma black plastic tube just in front of the two connec-tors. At this point, they are joined together withmetal braiding inside a metal clamp and fastenedwith a crosshead screw.
