4Induction care• IMPORTANT INFORMATION FORPACEMAKER AND IMPLANTEDINSULIN PUMP USERS: The functionsof this hob comply with the applicableEuropean standards on electromagneticinterference. If you are fitted with apacemaker or implanted insulin pump andare concerned please consult your doctorfor medical advice.• When the hob is in use keep magneticitems away, such as credit and debit cards,floppy disk, calculators, etc.• To fully utilise the power of yourinduction hob and to ensure longevity ofperformance, we recommend the use ofAGA Rangemaster Induction cookware.If you decide to purchase an alternativeset of cookware for use on your inductioncooker, we would strongly recommendthat composite aluminium cookwarewith steel inserts, example shown Fig.1.3, are avoided. This type of constructioncan significantly reduce the lifetime andperformance of your induction cook top.• Take care when touching the markedcooking areas of the hob.• Use adequately sized pans with flatbottoms that are large enough to coverthe surface of the hotplate heating area.The use of undersized pans will expose aportion of the surface unit to direct contactand may result in the ignition of clothing.• Only certain types of glass, glass-ceramic,earthenware or other glazed containersare suitable for use on the warming zone;others may break because of the suddenchange in temperature.• Only certain types of stainless steel,enamelled steel or cast iron cookware withenamelled bases are suitable for inductionhob cooking.• ALWAYS heat fat slowly, and watch as itheats. Deep fry pans should be only onethird full of fat.• NEVER try to move a pan of hot fat,especially a deep fat fryer. Wait until thefat is cool. Filling the pan too full of fat cancause spill over when food is added. If youuse a combination of oils or fats in frying,stir them together before heating, or as thefats melt.• Foods for frying should be as dry aspossible. Frost on frozen foods or moistureon fresh foods can cause hot fat to bubbleup and over the sides of the pan. Carefullywatch for spills or overheating of foodswhen frying at high or medium hightemperatures.• DO NOT use the top of the flue (the slotsalong the back of the cooker) for warmingplates, dishes, drying tea towels orsoftening butter.• DO NOT use water on grease fires andnever pick up a flaming pan. Turn thecontrols off and then smother a flamingpan on a surface unit by covering the pancompletely with a well fitting lid or bakingtray. If available, use a multi-purpose drychemical or foam-type fire extinguisher.• DO NOT modify this appliance. Thisappliance is not intended to be operatedby means of external timer or separatedremote-control system.• If flammable materials are stored in thedrawer, oven(s) or grill(s) it may explodeand result in fire or property damage.• ALWAYS allow any cookware to coolbefore cleaning.
