GB-9SAFETY, OPERATORS & MAINTENANCE MANUAL3 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONSimmediately before mowing.• Turn off the mowing mechanism, shut off theengine and remove the key from the ignitionevery time:• You clean the machine• You remove dirt from the mowing mechanism(grass or debris).• You run over an unknown object and need tocheck for possible damage or to repair it• The machine unusually intensively vibratesand you need to find the cause• You repair the engine or other parts of themower (also unplug cables from sparkingplugs)• While operating, avoid mole-hills, concretebases, guard-stones, stumps, loose stonesand curbs. These must not come into directcontact with the blade as they could causeserious damage. These may alsocompromise the mower stability.• Do not drive the mower into heaps of sand,gravel or similar materials.• The machine may only be operated duringdaylight or under very good artificial lightconditions.• Do not use the machine in limited visibility(dusk, fog, heavy rain etc.)• Do not let the engine run in enclosed spaces.The exhaust gases contain CO, they damagehealth and can ultimately cause death.• The engine should only be started andoperating in open spaces. If the engine isstarted and operated in enclosed spaces, theexhaust gases must be conducted away bythe means of prolonging the exhaust pipeoutside the enclosed space. Proper ventilationand fresh air supply must be secured in orderto prevent the accumulation of CO.• Before storing the machine in a closed space,let the engine and the hydraulic drive of themachine cool properly.• Regularly remove all combustible objects (drygrass, leaves...) from the areas around theexhaust pipe, engine, and battery.• Always control the machine from a workingstation, which gives you a perfect view of thewhole working area and of the machine.• While working, change your working positionto have a perfect view of the mower at alltimes.• When operating the mower on slopes neverenter the space directly below the mower.• The working position should be far enough(maximum 50 meters) to prevent the operatorfrom getting hit by objects that may beaccidentally thrown by the mower.• Do not operate the mower if you cannot see it(behind terrain obstacles, corners of buildings,hidden in grass etc.)Safety Decals• Before starting the mower, check the state ofthe safety labels. If any labels are damaged ormissing, contact your dealer and replace suchlabels on the machine. Get thoroughlyacquainted with these labels. The placement ofthe labels on the machine is obligatory.• Do not remove or damage any of the safetylabels.• Do not remove any covers or safety elements.They are for your protection.• Do not use the machine if any of the protectingdevices or covers are damaged or missing.• Keep the machine and its accessories cleanand in a good technical condition at all times.• It is strictly prohibited to make any changes ormodifications to the machine that were notpreviously approved by the manufacturer. Anymodification to the machine may lead to ahazardous situation or injury. If theseinstructions are not followed, the manufacturerdoes not bear any liability for the machine andthe terms of warranty may be invalidated.• The machine must always be equipped with allcovers and protective elements.• It is strictly forbidden to used the machine withimproperly mounted or damaged rubbermulching cover with chains.
