8.7 Intermediate calibration — i50TridataIntermediate calibration allows you to:• Check the instrument software version.• Check and if necessary set the instrument statusas either Master or Repeater.• Perform a calibration speed run over a measureddistance to ensure accurate speed readings.Checking i50 Tridata software version andstatus10152025303540455055 60 54+D12461-2Depth S pe e dDepthDuring normal operation:1. Press the Depth button to display the instrumentstatus.Master (transducer connected) or Repeater (Notransducer connected).3. To change the depth status:i. Press the Trip and Reset buttons at the sametime. The status will flash.ii. Use the Trip or Reset button to switch thestatus between Master or Repeater.i. Press the Trip and Reset buttons at the sametime to confirm the new instrument status.4. Press the Depth button again to begin speed runcalibration.5. To exit the Intermediate calibration settings atany time, press and hold the Depth and Speedbuttons at the same time for approximately 4seconds:Performing Speed Run CalibrationThe Speed Run Calibration involves carrying out2 or more runs, over a measured distance, toenable a calibration factor to be determined. Eachrun consists of an outward and a return leg whichminimizes the effect of tidal drift when the calibrationfactor is determined.Note: This procedure is not required if currentspeed is set to SOG.From the Intermediate Calibration page:1. Press the Depth button until you reach theCalibration Run page (2 presses from theSoftware Version page).D12462-2De pth2. Press the Trip and Reset buttons at the sametime. The run length will flash.D12463-2+Trip Re s e t3. Use the Trip and Reset buttons to adjust the runlength to the required value. The default value is 1.00 (default) the setting canbe adjusted from 0.25 to 2.50).4.
