5.2 MountingPre-mounting checkThe product is designed to be surface mounted. Beforemounting the unit, ensure you have:• Selected a suitable location.• Identified the cable connections and route that the cables willtake.• Detached the front bezel.• Remove the keypad mat.Mounting diagramD12379-1Mounting instructions1. Check the selected location for the unit, a clear, flat area withsuitable clearance behind the panel is required.2. Fix the mounting template supplied with the product, to theselected location, using masking or self adhesive tape.3. If possible use an appropriate size hole cutting saw and cutout the centre hole cut out area as indicated on the mountingtemplate, or4. Using a suitable hole cutting saw, make pilot holes in eachcorner of the cut out area and using a jigsaw cut along theinside edge of the cut out line.5. Ensure that the unit fits into the removed area and then filearound the cut edge until smooth.6. Drill any required holes as indicated on the mountingtemplate for the securing screws.7. Connect the relevant cables to the unit.8. Peel the backing off of the supplied gasket and place theadhesive side of the gasket onto the display unit and pressfirmly onto the flange.9. Slide the unit into place and secure using the screwsprovided.10.Refit keypad mat and front bezel.Note: Drill, tap size and tightening torques are dependantupon the material type and thickness of the mounting surface.Note: The supplied gasket provides a seal between the unitand a suitably flat and stiff mounting surface or binnacle.The gasket should be used in all installations. It may alsobe necessary to use a marine-grade sealant if the mountingsurface or binnacle is not entirely flat and stiff or has a roughsurface finish.5.3 Front bezelRemoving the front bezelD12372-11 23 4Note: Use care when removing the bezel. Do not use anytools to lever the bezel, doing so may cause damage.1. Using your fingers pull the bezel away from the unit at thetop and side, as shown in 2.The bezel will start to come away from the unit at the topand side.2. Now pull the bezel away from the unit on the opposite side,as shown in 3.The bezel will now come free from the unit, as shown in 4.Location and mounting 27
