COVER HS Series – User manualCOMEX S.A. 42.3. Location2.3.1 UPS roomThe UPS is designed for indoor installation. The device should be in a clean, ventilatedenvironment in order to maintain the ambient temperature within the required specifications. The UPS provides forced convection cooling through internal fans. Cold air enters the unitthrough the ventilation openings located in the front of the enclosure and is blown out by thegrills in the rear of the enclosure. Do not block the ventilation openings.Depending on the conditions of the room, the ventilation openings of the power supply shouldbe regularly cleaned, eg with a vacuum cleaner. Ventilation will ensure efficient cooling andlonger service life.Note: The UPS should be installed on a stable and non-flammable surface.2.3.2 Battery roomIn the final charging process, the batteries emit some oxygen and hydrogen into theenvironment and therefore require constant fresh air access to the room in which they arelocated. Safety requirements for battery compartments are described in PN-EN 50272-2.The battery temperature should be stable as it is the main parameter that affects battery lifeand capacity. The optimal operating temperature of the battery is 15-25 ° C. It is recommendedto maintain a nominal temperature of 20 ° C.Working at higher temperatures shortens the battery life and reduces the battery capacity inthe lower battery. Each increase in battery operating temperature by another 8 ° C, reduces theservice life by 50%.Keep batteries away from heat sources and hot air outlets. When installing batteries outside the UPS, use the battery circuit as close as possible to thebattery. The connecting cables for the batteries and UPS should be as short as possible.2.3.3 StorageIf the device is not installed and needs to be stored, protect it from excessive humidity and hightemperatures. Keep batteries in a dry and cool place with good ventilation. The most suitablestorage temperature for batteries is 20-25 ° C.2.4.
