US-10CHT2250pulling the rope or remove the sparkplug and dry it.■ STOPPING ENGINE1. Release the throttle lever and run theengine at idling speed for a half minute.2. Slide the ignition switch to the STOPposition.• Except for an emergency, avoidstopping the engine while pulling thethrottle lever.• If the engine won't stop when settingthe ignition switch to the stop position,close the choke lever and stop theengine.In this case, please repair the machineat your nearest servicing dealer.■ ADJUSTING IDLING SPEED1. When the engine tends to stopfrequently at idling mode, turn the idleset screw clock-wise.(1) Idle set screw2. When the cutting blades keep movingafter releasing the throttle trigger, turnthe idle set screw counter-clockwise.• Warm up the engine before adjustingthe idling speed.■ HOW TO USE• This machine is designed so as tocut twigs upto 8 mm (0.3 inches)thick. Cutting too thick twigs ormetal wires can not only break theblade teeth but also give damage tothe drive mechanism.• When trimming leaves and thin twigs,guide the blades as drawing a halfcircle on the surface, and you will get abetter finish.• Running the engine at high speed withthe blades Jammed up can shorten thelife of clutch parts. When the bladeshave been jammed by thick twigs, stopoperation at once and draw your unitoff the objects after stopping theengine. When clipping comparativelyNOTENOTEIMPORTANT7. Operation■ STARTING ENGINEKeep the blades clear of thesurrounding as they will start movingupon starting of the engine.1. When first starting up after putting fuelinto the machine, push the primingpump until fuel runs out in the cleartube. Then close the choke. Chokingmay not be necessary when re-startingright after stopping the engine. (OP1)(1) Primer pump(2) Choke lever(3) CLOSE(4) OPEN2. Pull the throttle lever and push the lockbutton to set the lever in the STARTposition. (OP2)(1) Throttle lever(2) Lock button3. Slide the ignition switch to the engineside to set it in the ON position. (OP3)4. Rest the unit on a firm place. Pull thestarter knob quickly. (OP4)• Avoid pulling the rope to its end orreturning it by releasing the knob. Suchactions can cause starter failures.5. When the engine has started, graduallyopen the choke.6.
