The use of “mill ends” is discour-aged as this fuel can easily overheat yourinsert. Evidence of excessive overheatingwill void your warranty. As well, a largeportion of sawmill waste is chemicallytreated lumber, which is illegal to burn inmany areas. Chemically treated fire logsalso must not be burned in your insert.13) Do not store any fuel closer than 2 feet fromyour unit.14) Do not burn salt drift wood as it will corrodeyour unit and void the warranty.15) Do not operate the unit if the glass is brokenor missing. Do not operate the unit if thegasketing is worn out and not sealing thedoor or the glass.It is very important to carefully maintain yourinsert, including burning seasoned wood andmaintaining a clean stove and chimney system.Have the chimney cleaned before the burningseason and as necessary during the season, ascreosote deposits may build up rapidly. Movingparts of your insert require no lubrication.creosoteWhen wood is burned slowly, it produces tar andother organic vapors, which form creosote whencombined with moisture. The creosote vaporscondense in the relatively cool chimney flue of aslow-burning fire. As a result, creosote residueaccumulates on the flue lining. When ignited,this creosote can make an extremely hot fire.removal for cleaning etc.Removal of your insert for cleaning purposesis usually not required if a proper installationhas been done. In the event that removal is re-quired, be sure not to damage any parts neededfor re-installation. Removal of the spacer washer, shownin the diagram below, will allow the latch tobe moved closer to the door frame, causinga tighter seal. Remove and replace the nuts,washer as shown.Glass cleaninGOnly clean your glass window when it is cool.Your local retailer can supply you with specialglass cleaner if plain water and a soft cloth doesnot remove all deposits.GlassreplaceMentYour Regency Insert is supplied with 5 mm.Neoceram ceramic glass that will withstandthe highest heat that your unit will produce. Inthe event that you break your glass by impact- purchase your replacement from an authorizedRegency dealer only, and follow our step-by-stepinstructions.Glass reMoValAllow the stove to cool before removing or replac-ing glass. Remove the door from the insert andremove the glass retainer. Use caution whenremoving broken glass to prevent injury.When placing the replacement glass in thedoor, make sure that the glass gasketing willproperly seal your unit. Replace the retainerand tighten securely, but do not wrench downon the glass as this may cause breakage. Donot substitute materials. If your glass door doesbreak, do not continue to use your unit until ithas been replaced.
