This will position the termination capwith proper down slope for draining water.Fasten the cap to the outer wall with the 4supplied screws.6) Pull the centre 4"(100mm) liner and outer6-7/8"(175mm) liner out enough to slip overthe fl ue collars of the fi replace. (You maywish to cut the liner shorter to make it moreworkable.) Do not bend liner more than45 o .7) Apply Mill Pac over the fi replace inner collarand slip the 4"(100mm) liner down over itand attach with 3 supplied screws.8) Do the same with the 6-7/8"(175mm) liner.9) Apply a bead of silicone between the thimbleand termination and around the outer edgeof the terminal at the wall in order to keepthe water out.IMPORTANT: Do not locate terminationhood where excessive snow or icebuildup may occur. Be sure to check venttermination area after snow falls, and clearto prevent accidental blockage of ventingsystem. When using snow blowers, makesure snow is not directed towards venttermination area.N o t e : To m a k et h e i n s t a l l a t i o nmore aestheticallyp l e a s i n g , w erecommend framingout a square to mountthe terminal to.2) Level the fireplace and fasten it to the framingusing nails or screws through the nailingstrips.3) Assemble the vent assembly by applyingMill Pac to the 4"(100mm) inner collar of thetermination and slipping the 4"(100mm) linerover it at least 1-3/8" (35mm). Fasten withthe 3 screws (drilling pilot holes will make thiseasier). Apply Mill Pac or high temperaturesilicone to the 6-7/8"(175mm) fl ex pipe andslip it over the 6-7/8" outer collar of the ventterminal at least 1-3/8"(35mm) and fastenwith the 3 screws.NOTE: Horizontal sections must besupported at intervals not exceeding3 feet (0.9 meter). (Flame picture andperformance will be affected by sagsin the liner).4) Separate the 2 halves of the wall thimble andsecurely fasten the one with the tabs to theoutside wall making sure that the tabs areon top and bottom. Fasten the other thimblehalf to the inside wall. The thimble halvesslip inside each other and can be adjustedfor 2 x 4 or 2 x 6 walls. The liners must slipover the collars a minimum of 1-3/8".local codes. Note that for steep roof pitches, the vertical height must be increased. A poordraft, or down drafting can result from highwind conditions near big trees or adjoiningroof lines, in these cases, increasing the ventheight may solve the problem.7) Ensure vent is vertical and secure the baseof the flashing to the roof with roofi ng rails, slide storm collar over the pipe section andseal with a mastic.8) Install the vertical termination cap by twist-locking it.Note: Any closets or storage spaces, whichthe vent passes through must beenclosed.Offset ChartINSTALLATIONPROCEDURESfor Regency ® AstroCap TM DirectVent System (Flex)1) Locate the unit in the framing, rough in thegas.
