Check for evidences of excessive condensation,such as water droplets forming in the innerliner, and subsequently dripping out the joints,Continuous condensation can cause corrosionof caps, pipe, and fittings. It may be causedby having excessive lateral runs, too manyelbows, and exterior portions of the systembeing exposed to cold weather.4. Inspect joints, to verify that no pipe sections orfittings have been disturbed, and consequentlyloosened. Also check mechanical supports suchas Wall Straps, or plumbers' tape for rigidity.LOG REPLACEMENTThe unit should never be used with broken logs.Turn off the gas valve and allow the unit to coolbefore opening door and carefully remove the logs.(The pilot light generates enough heat to burnsomeone.) If for any reason a log should needreplacement, you must use the proper replace-ment log. The position of these logs must be asshown in the diagrams under Log Installation.Note: Improper positioning of logs may createcarbon build-up and will severely alterthe unit's performance which is notcovered under warranty.THERMOPILE/THERMOCOUPLE1. Remove faceplate, safety screen and glassdoor.2. Remove Logs and burner (if installed).3. Remove rear log tray by removing 2 screws.4. Remove pilot assembly by removing 2 screws.5. Pull pilot assembly up slightly and loosen thethermocouple or thermopile with a 7/16" wrench.6. Loosen the thermocouple or thermopile with a7/16" wrench.7. Disconnect thermocouple by loosening nutfrom the valve with a 9mm wrench. Disconnectthermopile by loosening 2 screws marked TPon the valve.8. Drop the thermocouple or thermopile downfrom the bracket and pull it out of the unit.9. Reinstall the new ones in reverse order.GLASS GASKETIf the glass gasket requires replacement use atadpole glass gasket for the Flush Front (Part #936-155).DOOR GLASSYour Regency fireplace is supplied with high tem-perature, 5mm Neoceram ceramic glass that willwithstand the highest heat that your unit will produce.If your glass requires cleaning, we recommendusing an approved glass cleaner available at allauthorized dealers. Do not use abrasive materials.Do not clean the glass when hot.In the event that you break your glass by impact,purchase your replacement from an authorizedRegency dealer only, and follow our step-by-stepinstructions for replacement.CAUTION:Wear gloves when removing damagedor broken glass.FLUSH GLASS REPLACEMENTRemove the flush door front, see the "StandardFlush Door" section. Remove the 4 glass clipsfrom each corner. Slide in the new replacementglass. Push the 4 glass clips back onto the frame.The glass must have gasketing around it.MAINTENANCEINSTRUCTIONS1. Always turn off the gas valve before cleaning.For relighting, refer to lighting instructions. Keepthe burner and control compartment clean bybrushing and vacuuming at least once a year.When cleaning the logs, use a soft clean paintbrush as the logs are fragile and easily dam-aged.2. Clean appliance and door with a damp cloth(never when unit is hot). Never use an abrasivecleaner. The glass should be cleaned with a gasfireplace glass cleaner. The glass should becleaned when it starts looking cloudy.3. The heater is finished in a heat resistant paintand should only be refinished with heat resistantpaint. Regency uses Stove Bright Paint - MetallicBlack #6309.4. Make a periodic check of burner for proper posi-tion and condition. Visually check the flame ofthe burner periodically, making sure the flamesare steady; not lifting or floating. If there is aproblem, call a qualified service person.5. The appliance and venting system must beinspected before use, and at least annually, bya qualified field service person, to ensure thatthe flow of combustion and ventilation air is notobstructed.Note: Never operate the appliance without theglass properly secured in place.6. Do not use this appliance if any part has beenunder water. Immediately call a qualified ser-vice technician to inspect the appliance and toreplace nay part of the control system and anygas control which has been under water.7. Verify operation after servicing.GENERAL VENTMAINTENANCEConduct an inspection of the venting system semi-annually. Recommended areas to inspect as follows:1. Check the Venting System for corrosion in areasthat are exposed to the elements. These willappear as rust spots or streaks, and in extremecases, holes. These components should bereplaced immediately.2. Remove the Cap, and shine a flashlight downthe Vent. Remove any bird nests, or other foreignmaterial.WARNING: Do not operate the appli-ance with the glass panels removed,cracked or broken. Replacement ofthe glass panels should be done by alicensed or qualified service person.
