38 Regency P33SE Gas FireplaceINSTALLATIONINSTALLING THE OPTIONAL FAN120 Volt AC power is needed for the fan switch andblower. The fan can be hard wired if desired. Thegrounded duplex receptacle should be installed intothe supplied receptacle box by a qualified electrician.The neutral (wider) slot of the polarized receptacleshould be at the top.Unit must be grounded at all times. Do not cutthe ground terminal off under any circumstances.1) Shut the power off.2) Remove the faceplate and and lift out standardflush door3) Turn the fan base on its side (with the base facingtowards you) and then slide the fan in towardsthe rear of the unit. Turn the fan upright and slipit over the two mountingstuds. Take care not to damage the insulation onthe fan base. Ensure that the fan blades donot rub against the valve tubing. Diagram 1.4) Connect fan ground cable to ground lug. Referto wiring diagram.5) Slide the thermodisc/cover assembly into thebracket clip on the underside of the firebox.Check that no wire will touch the hot surfaces.Diagram 2.Diagram 1Diagram 2Diagram 3Diagram 4Fan Control BoxControl Mounting PlateDiagram 5Diagram 7Diagram 69) Secure the fan wires and power cord byattaching one of the adhesive backed wireholder clips (Part #910-199) onto the Fire-place base. Use the second clip to bundle upthe wires approximately 4" from the controlbox. Ensure that there is no interferencewith the wires when the faceplate and trimare installed and that no wire will touch thehot metal surfaces or sharp edges.10) Plug the fan power cord into the rear end ofthe receptacle box to provide the maximumclearance.TO REMOVE THE FAN1) Shut the power off.2) Reverse the above instructions.Note: The bearings are lubricated for life.Do not lubricate them. Make sureyou vacuum the fan area on a regularbasis.IMPORTANT:These fans collect a lot of dust from withinyour home. Ensure you maintain these fanmotors on a regular basis by vacuumingout the fan blades and housing using a softbrush nozzle.7) Position the control plate assembly on theleft hand side of the firebox. Diagram 56) Attach the fan control box to the ControlPlate. (Diagram 3 & 4)8) Secure the control plate assembly with 1screw as shown in Diagram 6.
