English - 10Connecting a VCRVideo ConnectionThese instructions assume that you have already connected your TV to an antenna or a cable TV system (according to theinstructions on pages 6~7). Skip step 1 if you have not yet connected to an antenna or a cable system.1. Unplug the cable orantenna from the backof the TV.2. Connect the cable orantenna to the ANT INterminal on the back ofthe VCR.3. Connect an RF Cablebetween the ANT OUTterminal on the VCRand the ANT IN terminalon the TV.4. Connect a Video Cablebetween the VIDEOOUT jack on theVCR and the AV IN 1[Y/VIDEO] or AV IN 2[VIDEO] jack on the TV.5. Connect Audio Cablesbetween the AUDIOOUT jacks on the VCRand the AV IN 1 (or AVIN 2) [R-AUDIO-L] jackson the TV.If you have a “mono”(non-stereo) VCR,use a Y-connector(not supplied) toconnect to theright and left audioinput jacks of theTV. Alternatively,connect the cable tothe “R” jack. If yourVCR is stereo, youmust connect twocables.➣ANT INFollow the instructions in “Viewing a VCR or Camcorder Tape” to view your VCR tape.Each VCR has a different back panel coniguration.When connecting a VCR, match the color of the connection terminal to the cable.When connecting to AV IN 1, the color of the AV IN 1 [Y/VIDEO] jack (Green) does notmatch the color of the video cable (Yellow).➣➣➣S-Video ConnectionYour Samsung TV can be connected to an S-Video jack on a VCR. (This connection delivers a better picture as comparedto a standard VCR.)1. To begin, follow steps1–3 in the previoussection to connect theantenna or cable to yourVCR and your TV.2. Connect an S-VideoCable between theS-VIDEO OUT jack onthe VCR and theAV IN 2 [S-VIDEO] jackon the TV.3. Connect Audio Cablesbetween the AUDIOOUT jacks on the VCRand the AV IN 2[R-AUDIO-L] jacks onthe TV. An S-Video cable may be included with a VCR.
