Installing and connecting the drain hose of the outdoor unitWhile heating, ice may accumulate. During the process of defrosting, check if condensation draining is adequate. For adequatedraining, do the following.1. Insert the drain plug into the drain hole on the underside of the outdoor unit.2. Connect a drain hose to the drain plug.3. Ensure that condensation draining is adequate.FrameGroundEstimatedsnow fallSnow-proof hoodBottom surface of outdoor unitDrain hoseDrain holeDrain plugDrain hole Drain plug• To avoid drain plug from contacting the ground, secure gap between theground and the bottom surface of the outdoor unit.• In areas with heavy snow fall, piled snow could block the air intake. To avoid this incident, install a frame that is higher than estimated snowfall. In addition, install a snow-proof hood to avoid snow from piling on theoutdoor unit.• When installing, make sure there is no leakage. When recovering the refrigerant, ground the compressor firstbefore removing the connection pipe. If the refrigerant pipe is not properly connected and the compressor workswith the service valve open, the pipe inhales the air and it makes the pressure inside of the refrigerant cycleabnormally high. It may cause explosion and injury.Evacuating the connected pipes(ARHP)The outdoor unit is loaded with sufficient R22 refrigerant .You should evacuate the air in the indoor unit and in the pipe.If airremains in the refrigerant pipes, it affects the compressor. It may cause reduction of cooling capacity and malfunction.English-44A3050 CB&XL&CH_IB&IM_DB68-04138A_HP&CO_EN.indd 44 2013-12-28 14:43:49
