Make sure that the cover is securely latched.CautionIf the front cover is not completely closed, the machine will notoperate.Replacing the print cartridgeThe machine uses four colors and has a different print cartridge for eachone: yellow (Y), magenta (M), cyan (C), and black (K).• The status LED and the toner-related message on the display indicatewhen each individual print cartridge should be replaced.At this stage, the print cartridge needs to be replaced. Check the type ofprint cartridge for your machine. (See "Supplies" on page 8.1.)1 Turn the machine off, then wait a few minutes for the machine tocool.2 Using the handle, completely open the front cover.Caution• Do not touch the green surface, the OPC drum or the front ofeach print cartridge, with your hands or any other material.Use the handle on each cartridge in order to avoid touchingthis area.• Be careful not to scratch the surface of the paper transferbelt.• If you leave the front cover open for more than a few minutes,the OPC drum can be exposed to light. This will causedamage to the OPC drum. Close the front cover should theinstallation need to be halted for any reason.
