T HE F AX M A C H I N EUsing Voice RequestIf you’re sending or receiving a document and you need to speak to the other personduring the same phone call, use voice request to alert the person at the remote site. Youcan also respond to a voice request made by the person on the remote end.S e n d i n g a V o i c e R e q u e s t1Press OHD/V.REQ. while adocument is being sent orreceivedA voice request signal ISsent to the remote faxmachine after thedocument has been sent orreceived.2When the phone rings,pick up the handset andanswer it.3When you are finished,replace the handset.4 You cannot talk with the otherperson and send a fax at the same time.The person on the remote end has 10 to15 seconds to pick up the handset andbegin talking to you. If no one answers,your machine returns to standby mode.If you can’t seem to alert the otherperson, it may be because the remote faxmachine doesn’t have the voice requestfeature.+ When you’ve finished talking, ifyou have another document to send,load the document and tell the otherperson to press START on the remotemachine.
