20 Emergency ModeKnow Your DeviceEmergency ModeEmergency mode conservesyour device’s remaining powerwhen you are in an emergencysituation.Emergency mode saves battery power by:• Changing the color of the screen to grayscale.• Restricting application usage to only essentialapplications and those you select.• Turning off Mobile data when the screen is off.• Turning off connectivity features such as Wi-Fi andBluetooth®.Note: When Emergency mode is turned off, theLocation settings may stay the same as they were inEmergency mode.Activate Emergency ModeTo activate Emergency mode:1. Press and hold the Power key to display theDevice options window.2. Tap Emergency mode.• When accessing for the first time, read theTerms and conditions. If you accept them,tap the Checkbox, and then tap Agree.Confirm when prompted.3. Tap Turn on.Turn Off Emergency Mode► From the Emergency mode Home screen, tapMore > Turn off Emergency mode.Use Emergency ModeWhile in Emergency mode, your device conservespower. The following apps and features are availableon the Home screen:• Flashlight: Use the device’s flash as a steadysource of light.• Emergency alarm: Sound an audible siren.• Share my location: Send your locationinformation to your emergency contacts.• Phone: Launch the call screen.• Internet: Launch the Web browser.• Add: Add other available apps.- Maps: Launch Google Maps™.• Battery percentage: Display estimated batterycharge remaining.• Estimated usage time remaining: Displayestimated standby time that can be reached basedon current battery charge and usage.• Emergency call: Dial the emergency telephonenumber (for example, 911). This kind of call canbe made even without activated cellular service.• More:- Turn off Emergency mode: Disable Emergencymode and return to standard mode.- Remove: Choose apps to remove from thescreen.- Manage emergency contacts: Add emergencycontacts if none have been set in SafetyAssistance.- Settings: Configure the available settings. Onlya limited number of settings are enabled inEmergency mode.
