Section 8: ApplicationsThis section contains a description of each application that isavailable on the Apps screen, its function, and how tonavigate through that particular application. If the applicationis described in another section of this user manual, then across reference to that description is provided.Managing ApplicationsThe Apps screen displays all applications installed on yourdevice, including apps you download and install.From Apps, you can change the way apps appear on thescreen, uninstall apps you have downloaded, and share appswith friends. When you install new apps, new screens areadded to hold them.Tip: To open applications quickly, add the icons offrequently-used applications to one of the Homescreens if it is not there by default. For details, see “AppShortcuts” on page 29.Updating ApplicationsOnce you have registered your device (see “SoftwareUpdate” on page 160) and signed into your Google account(see “Setting Up Your Gmail Account” on page 52), you maysee the Updates Available notification in the Status Bar ifthere is a new version of one or more apps available or, whenyou open an application that is preloaded on your device, anUpdate Available message may be displayed.To update the applications:1.
