7 Set Up Your DeviceGetting StartedTurn Your Device On or OffThe instructions below explain how to turn yourdevice on or off.Turn the Device OnTo turn the device on:► Press and hold the Power key until the deviceturns on.Turn the Device OffTo turn the device off:1. Tap Power off, and confirm if prompted.Reset the DeviceIf your device stops responding to taps or fingergestures and you are unable to turn it off, you canreset your device.► Press and hold the Power key and theVolume down key at the same time formore than seven seconds.Initial Set UpThe first time you turn your device on, a Welcomescreen is displayed. It guides you through the basicsof setting up your device.Follow the prompts to choose a default language,connect to a Wi-Fi ® network, set up accounts,choose location services, learn about your device’sfeatures, and more.Note: Voice Assistant provides voice prompts anddescriptions of items on the screen to improveaccessibility. During setup, you can enable or disableVoice Assistant by pressing the Home key quicklythree times.Smart SwitchUse Smart Switch™ to transfer contacts, photos, andother content from your old device. You can copycontent quickly and easily without installing theapp on your old device. Just connect both devicesusing the included USB cable and On-the-Go (OTG)connector.Note: Transferring content via a USB cable mayincrease battery consumption. Make sure your batteryis fully charged.Note: The USB option must be set a Media device(MTP) on the other device.1. Select Smart Switch during setup.– or –From a Home screen, tap Apps >Settings > Backup and reset > Open SmartSwitch.2.
