7.2 PROBLEM SOLVINGSolving General Printing ProblemsProblemThe printer does notprint.Possible CauseThe printer is notreceiving power.Your printer is notselected as the defaultprinter.Check the printer forthe following:The printer may be inmanual feed mode andout of paper. (TheManual and the Datalights are blinking.)The connection cablebetween the computerand the printer is notconnected properly.The connection cablebetween the computerand the printer isdefective.The port setting isincorrect.SolutionIf no lights are on, check the powercord connections. Check the powerswitch and the power source.Select Samsung ML-1440 Seriesas your default printer.• The printer cover is not closed.• Paper is jammed.• No paper is loaded.• Toner cartridge is not installed.• Printer system error occurs.Contact a service representative.Add paper to the Manual tray, andpress the Demo button on theprinter’s control panel.Disconnect the printer cable andreconnect it.If possible, attach the cable toanother computer that is workingproperly and print a job. You mayalso try using a different printercable.Check the Windows printer setting tomake sure that the print job is sentto the correct port (for example,LPT1).
