U SING P RINT M ATERIALS3.4• For envelopes:- Use only well-constructed envelopes with sharp, wellcreased folds.- Do not use envelopes with clasps and snaps.- Do not use envelopes with windows, coated lining, self-adhesive seals, or other synthetic materials.- Do not use damaged or poorly made envelopes.- Only use envelopes recommended for laser printers. Beforeloading envelopes in the tray, make sure that they areundamaged and are not stuck together.- Do not feed stamped envelopes.• For transparencies:- Place them on a flat surface after removing them from theprinter.- Do not leave them in the paper tray for long periods of time.Dust and dirt may accumulate on them resulting in spottyprinting.- To avoid smudging caused by fingerprints, handle them andcoated paper carefully.- To avoid fading, do not expose the printed transparencies toprolonged sunlight.- Only use transparencies recommended for use in laserprinters.- Ensure that transparencies are not wrinkled, curled, or haveany torn edges.• For labels:- Verify that their adhesive material can tolerate fusingtemperature of 180 o C (356o F) for 0.1 second.- Make sure that there is no exposed adhesive materialbetween them. Exposed areas can cause labels to peel offduring printing, which can cause paper jams. Exposedadhesive can also cause damage to machine components.- Do not load a sheet of them through the printer more thanonce. The adhesive backing is designed for one passthrough the machine.- Do not use labels that are separating from the backingsheet or are wrinkled, bubbled, or otherwise damaged.- Only use labels recommended for laser printers.
