MAINTAINING YOUR PRINTER4.5Replacing the Toner CartridgeIf the print remains light after redistributing toner (seepage 4.3), replace the toner cartridge.Remove the old cartridge and install a new toner cartridge. See“Installing the Toner Cartridge” on page 2.4.Using the Toner Save ModeThe Toner Save mode allows the printer to use less toner oneach page. Selecting this option will extend the life of your tonercartridge and reduce your cost per page, but will reduce printquality.There are two ways to enable the Toner Save mode:From the Control PanelPress the Cancel button on the control panel. The printer mustbe in Ready mode (On Line/Error green LED is on).• If the Toner Save LED is on, the mode is enabled and theprinter uses less toner to print a page.• If the Toner Save LED is off, the mode is disabled and theprinter prints in the normal mode.From the Printer PropertiesYou can also enable the Toner Save mode in the Graphic tab ofthe printer properties.
