Section 2D: Controlling Your Roaming Experience 58Roaming on Analog NetworksWhen you roam on analog networks, you will experience a similarquality provided by other analog carriers today. Although somefeatures, such as Sprint PCS Vision and Sprint PCS Voice Command, will be unavailable, you can still make and receive calls and accessvoicemail. If you are accustomed to Sprint PCS Service, you maynotice some of the following differences when using analog service: You are more likely to experience static, cross-talk, fade-out, anddropped calls. Some features which are standard on the enhancedSprint PCS Nationwide Network, such as Call Waiting,Sprint PCS Vision, and direct international dialing, areunavailable. Though callers can leave voicemail messages while you areroaming, you may not receive notification until you return to theSprint PCS Nationwide Network. (See “Checking for VoicemailMessages While Roaming” on page 59.) There are security and privacy risks (eavesdropping and cloning)that exist with conventional analog services today. Your battery’s charge will deplete more quickly and you willneed to recharge it more often when you use your phone foranalog roaming.Note: If you’re on a call when you leave the Sprint PCS Nationwide Networkand enter an area where roaming is available (whether digital oranalog), your call is dropped. If your call is dropped in an area where youthink PCS Service is available, turn your phone off and on again toreconnect to the Sprint PCS Nationwide Network. When using your phone in analog mode, the phone may feel warm. Thisis normal for analog operation.
