5. 12 TroubleshootingSolving Print Quality ProblemsIf you have any problems with the printed output of yourQwikLaser 6100, refer to Table 5.2 for suggested remedies.Note: The causes listed in Table 5.2 are probable causes only, and may notrepresent all of the possible cases which may occur under actual operatingconditions. If you experience a problem which does not seem to fall underany of the cases listed in this table, or if you are concerned about any otheraspect of printer operation, contact the your nearest Samsung dealer.ProblemIrregular fadedpatches of print.Possible Cause RemedyThere is a paper quality problem. Use only paper that meets thespecifications required by the printer.Black staining. There is a paper quality problem. Use only paper that meets. printerspecifications. See the section“Selecting Print Media” (page 3.1).Character voids. The paper may be too dry. Try printing with a different batch ofpaper.A toner cartridge from another printerhas been installed.Always use the same toner cartridgewith the same printer. Using acartridge that has already been usedin another printer may not givesatisfactory results.The printer requires a print qualityadjustment.Press and hold the control panelbutton for ten seconds until all lightsremain steadily lit, then let go of thebutton. The printer will perform theprint quality adjustment. Aftercleaning, one cleaning sheet prints.Toner may be unevenly distributed. Remove the toner cartridge andshake it gently to evenly distributethe toner. Then replace the cartridgeback into the printer.Table 5.2
