These functions are arranged inmenus and sub-menus, accessed using the two soft keysmarked and . Each menu and sub-menu allowsyou to view and alter the settings of a particularfunction.The roles of the soft keys vary according to the currentcontext; the label on the bottom line of the display justabove each key indicates its current role.Example:Press the left soft keyto access Menu Mode. Press the right soft keyto find a number inyour PhonebookMenu FindYour Phone’s ModesStandby ModeStandby is the most basic state of your phone. Thephone goes into Standby Mode after you turn it on orwhenever you briefly press the key. When yourphone is in Standby Mode, you will typically see theBanner greeting message and the current date and time.If you enter a phone number, you can press the keyto dial it or press the Save soft key to save it in theinternal Phonebook.Press the key at any time to return to StandbyMode. Be careful; if you are on a call when you pressthe key, the call disconnects and the phonereturns to Standby Mode.Talk ModeYou can place and answer calls only when your phone isturned on. During a call, the phone is in the talk mode.While you are in the talk mode, pressing the Menu softkey gives you a list of options. See page 36 for details.
