52Section 6: Entering TextThis section outlines how to select the desired text input methodwhen entering characters into your Omnia II. This section alsodescribes the predictive text entry system that reduces theamount of key strokes associated with entering text.Virtual QWERTY keyboardsYour Omnia II includes virtual QWERTY keyboards for characterentry. Using the keyboards, you can type letters, punctuation,numbers, and other special characters into text entry fields orother applications. You can access the keyboards by tapping thetext entry icon located at the bottom of the display, to choose theSwype, Samsung Keypad, or Keyboard text input methods.Text Input MethodsThere are six text input methods available:• Block Recognizer• Keyboard• Letter Recognizer• Samsung Keypad• Swype• TranscriberEach of these methods allow you to input alphanumericcharacters and symbols into your phone. In addition to theseinput methods, there are other settings you can select, such asWord Completion, associated with the input mode selected.Changing the Text Input MethodWhen entering characters intoa field in an application ormessage, all text inputmethods are available and canbe selected by tapping thewhite triangle portion of thecenter soft key andselecting a method from thepop-up menu.The center soft key iconreflects the current text entrymethod.
