Getting Started 6Getting StartedBattery IndicatorThe battery indicator in the upper-right corner of the display indicates battery powerlevel. Four bars indicate a full charge while one bar indicates an almost empty battery.Two to three minutes before the battery becomes too low to operate, a blinking emptybattery icon appears and a tone sounds. If you continue to operate the phonewithout charging, it shuts down.Checking Battery ChargeKeeping track of the battery’s charge is important. If the battery level becomes too low,your phone automatically shuts down and you could lose important data.• For a quick check of your battery level, tap the battery icon to display themain battery’s remaining battery power.Battery CapacityWhen the battery is low, a warning window displays and the backlight turns off.Note: Long backlight settings, simultaneous use of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, searching forservice, vibrate mode and browser use affect the battery’s talk and standby times.There is also an internal backup battery that saves all phone settings if the regular batteryis discharged. The internal battery maintains data for approximately four hours. Thisinternal backup battery needs an initial charge of 24 hours.Perform ActiveSync operations or use a backup utility frequently to avoid losing anyinformation in case the battery is fully discharged.
