Call Functions30Accessing Options During a CallYour phone provides a number of control functionsthat you can use during a call.Switching the Microphone Off (Mute)You can temporarily switch your phone’smicrophone off so that the other person cannothear you.Example: You may wish to say something toanother person in the room but do notwant the calling person to hear you.1. Press the Options soft key.2. When Mute highlights, press the Select softkey.The Mute icon ( ) appears on the bottom lineof the display and your correspondent can nolonger hear you.To switch the microphone back on:1. Press the Options soft key.2. When Unmute highlights, press the Select softkey.The Mute icon disappears and yourcorrespondent can hear you.Muting/Sending Key TonesYou can turn the key tones off or on during a call.When the Mute keys option is selected, your phonedoes not transmit the key tones. It allows you toCall Functions31press keys without hearing annoying key tonesduring a call.To communicate with answering machines orcomputerised telephone systems, the Send keysoption must be selected.Putting a Call on HoldYou can place the current call on hold whenever youwant. You can make another call while you have acall in progress if this service is supported by thenetwork. Of these two calls, one is active and theother is on hold and you can switch between thecalls.To place a call on hold, simply press the Hold softkey. You can reactivate the call whenever you wantby pressing the Retrieve soft key.To make a call while you have a call in progress:1. Enter the phone number that you want to dial orlook it up in Phonebook.2. Press the key to dial the second call.The first call is automatically put on hold.Or alternatively:1. Put the current call on hold by pressing the Holdsoft key.2. Make the second call in the normal way.To switch between the two calls, simply press theSwap soft key.
