Access Codes33Access CodesThere are several access codes used by your phone and its SIM card.These codes help you protect the phone against unauthorized use.When requested for any of the codes listed below, enter the appropriatecode (displayed as asterisks) and press the Select soft key. If you make amistake, press one or more times until the incorrect digit is clearedand then continue entering the correct code.Except for the PUK and PUK2 codes, access codes can be changed usingthe Security menu (see page 154 for details).Important! Avoid using access codes that are similar to emergency numbers, such as 911, sothat you do not accidentally dial an emergency number.Phone PasswordThe Phone Lock feature allows you to set a password to protect yourphone against unauthorized use.PINThe Personal Identification Number or PIN (4 to 8 digits) protects your SIMcard against unauthorized use.
