Contacts and Your Address Book 49Adding Pauses to Contact NumbersWhen you call automated systems, you are often required to entera password or account number. Instead of manually entering thenumbers each time, you can store the numbers in your Contactsalong with special characters that create pauses and waits. Apause stops the calling sequence for two seconds and a waitpauses the calling sequence until you enter a number or press akey.To add a pause or a wait to a number:1. From the Home screen, tap Contacts , andthen tap the name or number to open the Contact.2. Tap Edit.3. Tap the phone number field.4. Tap the screen at the position where the pause or waitneeds to be added.5. Tap .6. Tap Pause to add a two-second pause or tap Wait to add await, and use the keypad to enter the additional numbers. Apause will be displayed as a comma (,) and a wait will bedisplayed as a semi-colon (;).7. Tap Save to store your changes.Editing an Existing ContactWhen editing an existing contact, you can tap a field and changeor delete the information, or you can add additional fields to thecontact’s list of information.1. From the Home screen, tap Contacts . Tap theContact that you want to edit.2. Tap Edit.3. Tap to add a new field and tap to delete a field.4. Tap any of the fields to add, change, or delete information.5. Tap Save to save the edited information.Using ContactsDialing or Messaging from Address BookOnce you have stored phone numbers in the Address Book, youcan dial them easily and quickly by using the Search field to locatethe entry. You can also send messages.Finding an Address Book EntryYou can store phone numbers and their corresponding names toyour phone’s onboard memory or to an online account. Theselocations are physically separate but are used as a single entity,called the Address Book.1. From the Home screen, tap Contacts .
