122Access CodesThere are several access codes that are used byyour phone and its SIM card. These codes help youprotect the phone against unauthorized use.When requested for any of the codes explainedbelow, key in the appropriate code (displayed asasterisks) and press the OK soft key. If you make amistake, press the key until the incorrect digitis cleared and then continue entering the correctcode.The access codes, except for the PUK and PUK2codes can be changed using Security menuoptions (Menu 6.6). See page 92 for furtherdetails.Important! Avoid using access codes resemblingemergency numbers, such as 112,911 or 104 so that you do not dial anemergency number accidentally.Phone PasswordThe Phone Lock feature uses the phone password toprotect your phone against unauthorized use. It is usually supplied with the SIM card.If you enter an incorrect PIN three times insuccession, the code is disabled and cannot be useduntil you re-enable it by entering the PUK (seebelow).PUKThe 8-digit PUK (PIN Unblocking Key) is required tochange a disabled PIN. The PUK may be suppliedwith the SIM card. If not, or you have lost it,contact your service provider.To re-enable your PIN:1. Key in the PUK and press the OK soft key.2. Enter a new PIN of your choice and press theOK soft key.3. When the Confirm New PIN message isdisplayed, key in the same code again and pressthe OK soft key.If you enter an incorrect PUK ten times insuccession, the SIM card becomes invalid.
