73Text Messages72Text MessagesWrite New (Menu 1.3)In this menu, you can write and send a textmessage.Note: You can enter up to 918 alphanumericcharacters for your message. When you addmedia objects to the message, the numberof characters you can enter decreases.Creating a Simple Text Message1. Create your message.Note: For further details about enteringcharacters, see page 43.2. When you finish entering the message, pressthe Options soft key. The following optionsare available:• Send Only: allows you to send themessage. The message is deleted aftersending.• Save and Send: allows you to save a copyof the message and then send the message.You can read the message in your Outbox• Save Only: allows you to save themessage so that it can be sent later. Youcan read the message in your Outbox.• For further details about the Add Objects,Add Templates, Add Phonebook andAdd Bookmark options, see "Creating aMessage Using the Options" on page 73.3. Select Send Only or Save and Send, andpress the Select soft key.If you want to just save the message, selectSave Only. After saving the message, thephone returns to the Text Messages menu.4. If you select a save option, choose thememory where the message is saved andpress the OK soft key.5. Enter a destination number and press the OKsoft key. The message is sent.When the phone fails to send the message, itasks you if you want to retry. Press the OKsoft key to confirm. Select one of the following options by usingthe and keys and pressing the Selectsoft key:• Add Objects: allows you to add a sound,melody, picture or animation you want tothe message. Select the category of theobject to be added. In each category, youcan select the various factory-set items orchoose an item received from othersources, such as the Internet or otherphones.• Add Templates: allows you to apply one ofthe preset message templates to the text.Select one of five messages stored in theTemplates menu (Menu 1.4).
